Logan Spilker

Assistant coach, throws, strength and conditioning

Coach Logan Spilker is a Monte Vista alum who threw the shot put and discus, and was ranked 26th in the nation in Olympic weightlifting as a senior. He continued at Diablo Valley College in the hammer throw, qualifying for the NorCal Championships in back-to-back years. He began coaching immediately after high school and rejoined the Monte Vista staff in 2021. He serves as Monte Vista Track & Field's head strength and conditioning coach.

Since Coach Spilker took over the Monte Vista throws group, it has become one of the most reliable point sources on the team. His throwers have won six EBAL individual titles and an NCS Tri-Valley championship, have reached the NCS Meet of Champions every year since 2022, and own seven marks in the program's all-time top 10.

2022. Ash Rosati won the EBAL shot put title as a junior, and Cole Bosica placed 2nd in the boys shot. Bosica then took 4th at NCS Tri-Valley and advanced to the Meet of Champions.

2023. Rosati finished her career as one of the best throwers in Monte Vista history. She won the NCS Tri-Valley shot put title at 39' 11.50" and placed 3rd in the discus. At the Meet of Champions she was 5th in the shot and 4th in the discus. She holds the girls shot put school record at 40' 6", set the year before, breaking a mark that had stood since 1977, and her 118' 9" in the discus ranks No. 5 all-time.

2024. The girls throwers took over the EBAL Championships. Alexys Carlson won the shot put, with Avery Helfer 3rd and Cate Miller 4th. Helfer won the discus at 111' 10", No. 6 in school history, with Carlson 2nd. Those two events alone were worth 38 points. Carlson placed 3rd in both throws at NCS Tri-Valley and 4th in the discus at the Meet of Champions.

2025. Carlson swept the EBAL shot put and discus titles as a senior, and the girls throws scored 30 points. She placed 3rd in the shot and 2nd in the discus at NCS Tri-Valley, then 4th in both events at the Meet of Champions. Her 38' 11" in the shot came at the Meet of Champions and ranks No. 3 all-time. Her 132' 4" in the discus is No. 2, just 11 inches off a school record that has stood since 1980. On the boys side, Anthony Ouzounian threw 146' 9" to place 5th in the discus at NCS Tri-Valley, the No. 7 throw in program history.

2026. Isabella Consolino won the EBAL discus title as a sophomore. She placed 3rd at NCS Tri-Valley at 112' 9", qualified for the Meet of Champions in both throws, and threw 122' 4" in the discus during the season, No. 4 all-time. She has two more seasons to go.
