Brittany Williams
Assistant coach, sprints and relays
Coach Brittany Williams is a Monte Vista alum, and her name is still on the all-time lists. Her 12.35 in the 100 and 25.36 in the 200, both from 2015, rank No. 3 in school history. She also ran on the 2014 4x100 that clocked 48.79, which is still the No. 3 relay all-time.
Over the past three seasons, the athletes she coaches have rewritten those same lists, putting 20 marks into the program's all-time top 10.
2024. The girls 4x100 set the school record twice, both times at 48.62. The first lineup was Ava Ahern, Cate Miller, Parker DaCosta and Isabella Moriyama. The second was Ahern, Natalia McGowan, DaCosta and Moriyama. At the EBAL Championships her girls took 3rd, 4th and 5th in the 200 and 2nd and 4th in the 400. The 4x400 took 2nd and the 4x100 3rd, for 38 points from the sprint group alone. At the NCS Meet of Champions, the 4x400 of Miller, McGowan, Peyton Dolan and Moriyama won the section title in 3:55.36. At the CIF State Championships they ran faster still, 3:54.80 in the prelims, the No. 3 time in school history, though they didn't advance to the final. The 4x100 placed 4th. On the boys side, Owen Peters placed 5th in both the 200 and 400 at the Meet of Champions. He also ran 22.11 in the 200, No. 4 all-time, and 49.59 in the 400, No. 3. His wind-aided 21.48 is the fastest 200 ever run by a Mustang. Daniel Tochilnik placed 4th in the 300 hurdles in 40.21, the second-fastest time in school history.
2025. Isabella Moriyama had one of the great sprint seasons in program history. At the EBAL Championships she scored in all three sprints, placing 2nd in the 200, 2nd in the 400 and 4th in the 100. She then anchored the 4x400 to the league title. At the NCS Meet of Champions she placed 3rd in both the 200 and the 400, qualifying for the CIF State Championships in both events. Her 24.90 in the 200 is No. 2 all-time and her 12.39 in the 100 is No. 4. Cate Miller placed 3rd in the EBAL 400 behind Moriyama, and her 56.79 ranks No. 4 in school history. In total, the sprint group scored 36 points at EBALs.
2026. Chase Howard ran 49.04 in the 400, the second-fastest in Monte Vista history behind only the 2003 school record. He placed 4th at the EBAL Championships and added a 22.29 in the 200, No. 6 all-time. The boys 4x400 placed 5th at EBALs.
